Wrench Smart....... Back Up Smart

I was thinking about it, all the best websites eventually have some problems, some loosing data... Some of us keeping track of every fill-up may want to have all our logs written down somewhere else too, just in case...

Just an idea

I would go nuts if I lost all my fill up data

Good reminder.

I've got mine here and at two other sites, plus a spreadsheet with much more information which is on 2 machines and a backup.

This could be as easy as loading your fuel log and hitting file->Save As.

But it may be unnecessary... Darin/Ben, what kind of backups are there on the other end of the intertube?

Hello -

You can copy/paste the fuel log into an Excel spreadsheet. You should be careful to highlight the fuel log stuff only.

What would be really nice is a "plain jane" version of the fuel log that omits graphics and "mi." and "US Gal" labels. This makes the copy-paste much easier.

You could use Google Docs as an extra backup.

Whoops - late to this thread. I thought the title was about driving (reversing!).

EcoModder and EcoRenovator are backed up nightly.

But I'd never say that making your own backup is unnecessary!

Last time I wanted to restore something from a backed up copy (not EM!), it was discovered the back up hard drive was failing, and the data was corrupt.

That's a good idea. And a happy 2-bite-sized task. I'll post back when it's ready.

I know it's easy to sort in exel or open office, but it would still be cool.

Output re-ordered. There's now a link at the bottom of your fuel log to this "spreadsheet friendly" output format for copying.
