The VW 1L is a Diesel Hybrid and there is (allegedly) a Golf GTD Hybrid in the works and BMW have anounced that Hybrids will be coming soon as part of the EfficientDynamics stuff - so they seem to be catching on to the idea.

At least you still have car makers, and own all of ours (except the Japanese ones of course).

go and buy it!

so far i can see only big mouth (since at least 10 years, they are better than toyota and honda together). but, the few germans hybrids, u can buy, are expensive and and gas guzzlers. not exactly the ponit of a hybrid, isnt it!?

and i really dont want to buy a hybrid from a manufactor, who not even keeps his electric windows funktional. so itīs up to u, to bite the bullet, itīs good for my pension...

I don't want one If George was going to be replaced with a Hybrid then its more likely that the new Yaris or the existing Honda Jazz (aka Fit) would be top of the list, or if I had the cash a CR-Z....(donations welcome ) It was just the suggestion that they didn't know how to do it which I was commenting on.

Hers a video of an XR3 thats been built. Final fiberglass layer on the outside of the vehicle.

Note the swing out doors, instead of the lift up roof. The front end is also different than the original, as well as having a different engine.

A much nicer looking execution of the front end than the Riley model!

Just looked at the pics on their website and must modify my statement about it being gorgeous.

I still think that from a front quarter view it is beautiful other than than damn nose. From a rear quarter view, yuck. They dropped the ball on that things ass, IMO.

I find that it is pretty much the opposite of Ken's Zing! I think the Zing looks better going than coming.

If they had continued the XR-3's flowing lines into a boat tail, it would have been better, IMO.
