Changed the oil, power washed the engine and covered up the engine bay to wheel well holes on the left side. I put the Saturn wheel, 165/80R15 on just for grins. I was surprised it fit. Next I do the right side and grill block the AC condenser.
Wheel well sealed:
Tried 165/80R15 tires. 12% bigger, its like having another gear for the already struggling car, it was too much.
Grill partial block:

FYI, this grille block was in place for the entire summer (I don't use the AC). Rad fan did not run in city or flat land (mostly) cruising @ 80 km/h (50 mph).
from: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...-km-18930.html
I now have it fully blocked for winter. (Might be a bit much: I've heard the fan come on a couple of times cresting hills.)

Five years! (not four) = only ~7.5 posts a day. Not hard to do.

I put a diode in the map sensor, which drops the reference by .7 volts out of 5v. So I think the mpg is off by 14%, so that would put it the same as the test try, around 61 mpg.. It jumps from 50 mpg to 75 mpg when it goes to lean burn. After 7 miles the check engine light came on, so maybe it's not permanent.
Which car has more power in top gear the insight or the blackfly?
With the crazy holiday traffic yesterday, it was a little scary driving a car that can't get out of it's own way. It reminds me of when I deactivated 2 cylinders on my 1977 accord, which made it 800cc.

Welcome to 3 cylinders! Learn to downshift if you need power when you're cruising at low RPM/top gear.
Get the car into VTEC mode (above ~2500-3200 RPM) and you will notice considerably more power available (relatively speaking) when the 2nd intake valve comes online.
Blackfly has ~50 hp, less torque, no VTEC, worse aero and weighs the same as the Insight.

Honestly, I've never really been bothered by either car's power level (or lack thereof). I mostly drive in Goldilocks conditions though: Lightly traveled secondary roads with a posted limit of 80 km/h (50 mph) on generally flat terrain.

Nice to see what looks like OEM spec Potenza RE92's on there.
