I rolled a '69 Beetle on a gravel road in HS. Perhaps I needed an Android to keep me from driving stupid. I later learned the Beetle likes to swap ends under heavy downhill braking when on loose surfaces.
On a 12hr flight, a pilot might spend 4min flying the plane, the rest of the time it's automation at the helm. 90% of crashes are due to pilot error, with the majority of accidents being avoidable by relying on the autopilot.

I skipped past the last page of posts, since it's late.
I just wanted to add this quote from her :
Quote : " Mom wants a new crv for $36500. What do you think? "
" I think they should buy whatever they want. "
OK, but what do you think of it? Don't bother asking your mysogenystic ecomodder buddies.
Misogynistic ? Ecomodder ?

Some of my best work.
redpoint5 -- When I was driving truck in college, I had a International COE with 4 or 5 tons of dairy feed in back drifting back roads.
VWs are safer because you go off the road backwards.

Not entirely true. If you're looking at just commercial airlines, often the pilot(s) are taking over from the autopilot because the plane's gotten into a situation which the autopilot can't handle*. So it would be more accurate to say that human pilots prevent X percent of autopilot failures from becoming crashes. For a leading example, the plane that ditched in the Hudson River a few years back.
*Kind of like having your autodriver handle interstates and city streets, but suddenly hand control back to the human when it runs into say snow-covered mountain roads.

If she feels the need for a minivan on steroids, just let it go. It seems like she already set her mind toward it and there is nothing you could do about it. What about a Ford Escape Hybrid?

Why Don't You - Yes But | From Games People Play by Eric Berne
Consider Eric Berne M.D. (Creator of Transactional Analysis and Author of Games People Play). Why Don’t You – Yes But is literally the oldest game in the book.
