The problem with this swap is it is incorrect assumption that the reason the Metro gets better mileage than the Yaris is its engine. The real reason is the Metro weighs 645 pounds LESS! The Yaris weighs 39% more than the Metro. I bet that if you looked at the specific fuel consumption of the 2 engines for a given output the Yaris engine is probably more efficient than the Metro. If you compare them on a hp/L basis the Metro makes 48.7 while the Yaris makes 158.6. If the Yaris engine were reduced in size to match the Metro output it would be 460 ccs!

(I know the output wouldn't be linear. Hey I'm just having some fun here.)
