Yup, bad idea, keep at least a couple gallons of fuel in there.

I still need to figure out what my fuel capacity is. I have a 10.6 gallon tank but always top off.

YKYAEM when...
...You see 20W50 oil on a store shelf and you think "Oil that thick should be banned!"

But then I wouldn't have anything to put into my MGB's gearbox.

That wasn't transmission oil, I'm afraid... And there are people who look for thicker oil thinking it gives better protection. Or people who think that once an engine is x years old or has done n miles it shouldn't be on thin synthetic oils anymore. Not any objective reason, just "because it's old".

My MGB is meant to use engine oil in the gearbox.

No really.

Honest.

I use semi synthetic in the engine.

YKYAEM (albeit new) if...
you park beside cars of the same make and model to try to set an example.

YKYAEM if...

...the person in your passenger's seat sees your nasty grin whenever you're behind a car that accelerates fully all the time and in between traffic lights in the city area.

...a passerby asks about your front lip, what it does and why you have to put it on your relatively good looking car.

...you feel the "fuel used" calculation in your mind every time you accelerate from stop...

YKYAEM...

If.. You ride your motorbike 600miles over 2 weeks, before discovering the alternator doesn't work. Then find out it ran that far because the battery is 35Ah instead of 11.

If.. the above happens and your tempted to not bother replacing the alternator!
