so I added up my fuel used in my civic over the past years.
2005 was a half year because I bought my civic vx in June and that was 255.285 gallons.
2006 was 438.921 gallons
2007 was 331.1 gallons
2008 was 203.172 gallons
I'm fascinated to see how my 2009 fuel usage total will drop.

1.2 miles is worth pushing it around the block one more time, no?
But I still haven't touched my 66.6 mpg tank last April.

My best ever mpgz was when I took a trip to look at Lakeview OR. All most of the driving was on 2 lane country highway, my wife and I where just sight seeing and enjoying each others' company. The drive went from 900' above sea level upto 5500' above sea level dropped back down to ~4200'. This was before I found this site and learned about p&g driving...anyway when I filled up after a couple trip to work and back, I had 500 miles on that tank and averaged 58 mpg on a base mode Metro! I can't wait to get my XFI in perfect shape and on the road!

The one I remember was 791 miles from one tank of gas and I still had a little left. It holds 10.2 gallons or so . I'd like to hit 800 miles on a tank this summer.

mpg in my truck
My greatest accomplishment last year was breaking 30mpg on a tank of gas in my 2.4L Tacoma. When I'm working on driving economically, It's pretty easy to do 28mpg consistently, but I've only broken the thirty barrier once. It was mostly on the freeway, probably w/ a tailwind.
I haven't done much hypermiling recently, but I've been thinking about picking up a real scanguage and going at it again. My truck (big go-kart) would probably appreciate it.

I realized that my reduction in driving is more then just less gas used, at a calculated 26 cents per mile (total vehicle cost) my reduction in driving came to around 240 miles just for last month, less gas, less tire wear, longer between oil changes, less brake wear, it comes out to a savings of around $60 last month compared to a year ago and 1491 miles less then 3 years ago or a savings of around $380 just comparing the month of January, to me that is a good improvement.
