My favorite bad parking story occurred back in the 80's at my former employer, where business expansion had resulted in an overcrowded parking lot barely large enough to hold the cars of the following shift when already crowded with the cars of the shift currently at work. One day I came into work to find no available parking spaces and the shiny new car of a 1st shifter parked so as to take up two spaces. So a co-worker and I (he drove an MG midget and I drove a 68 VW bug) parked on each side of him with our cars completely within the lines of the parking space leaving about 2 inches of space between our sides of our beaters and his pristine gem, then went into watch the fun at shift change. He ended up having to open his trunk, lower the back seat, slither into the back seat, work his way to the front, carefully back out to avoid scratching his paint, then get out and close his trunk. That was the last time we saw him park taking up two spaces.

A guy at work parks taking up two spaces to avoid "dings". I just park behind so he is stuck between the wall and me - I move when asked, but take my time if busy with something or on the phone or having lunch or needing a pee or...

Well, you can fit a car to the right, but all that you could do on the left is park some Mad Max motorcycle that would destroy the van if touched.

I prefer

Bad parking to bad driving, so all bad drivers should keep thier cars parked regardless of where or how!

I went shopping for 2 items at our mega dollar store with its mega parking lot. I kept twisting and turning the wheel to find a spot up close. I kept getting cut off by people who pull through a parking space to the second one effecting blocking me from parking in the spots as they do not have poles or curbs between spaces. Finally I made a u turn went to the rear and made a 180 with 2 people following me. I parked in front of a lamp across 2 spaces.

Why not park easily and walk, unless disabled ?

Must be something related to my bones Ive broken over the years, a verbrate in my lower back, my right foot, left ankle in 2 spots, dislocated my right hip, stress fracture of right ankle just to name a few. I was in a wheelchair for 9 years.

Now days everyone is handicapp, so all those special spots are occupied.

There is a great scene in the corny movie "Johnny Dangerously" that relates to that, but I'm not going to post the clip, it was funny to me in the '80s but I'm thinking it's probably not appropriate in this day and age, and I don't want to meet the Ban Hammer on a nice Friday evening like tonight!

Just posted this in the wrong thread, here it goes in the right one:

Went to Best Buy to pick up a battery for my new (to me) camera. I should have parked closer. When I got out, the car was moved- I thought they left, but when I pulled out the right way, to the left down the way I saw a white Grand Prix, and of course I am not going to waste fuel to check.
