Citicar Get-Together Adventure!

Hey everyone!

I am at the Hilton in Columbia, Maryland at the first and only EVER Citicar World Gathering.

Yesterday morning, Rich came over to my house pulling a trailer with his Citicar on it. We loaded mine up, picked up Mark (who has a CommutaCar) and hit the road!

Cars loaded up leaving Milwaukee.

We drove through the night from Wisconsin to Maryland.

Here, Rich tightens the load at a rest area in Indiana powered by a wind turbine.

We were the first ones in. Unloaded the Citi's and went to go find breakfast.

Our cars did not make it our here unscathed. I lost one of my (expensive LED) taillights, and got some scratches and a crack in the body from the tie-downs, tarp, and bungie cords.

Also, my parking brake popped loose, and my rear driver side brake is leaking fluid!

It's tough to find a hardware store around here!!!! Columbia is nothing but a big business park! Just finding a breakfast restaurant this morning was a stretch!

See the rest of my fun photos from yesterday at this link:
MobileMe Gallery

I brought my still camera and video camera to document the event.

How long is this event going to last? Columbia is one county north of me.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for stopping out and taking those photos!

I have LOTS more to upload!

We drove the Citicars, Commutacars, and the Electric Jetta to Bob Beaumonts house. It must have been hilarious to see these cars zipping around!!!

In the above photo, Bob Stone explains how they had a special car carrier that could load up the cars sideways. That way they could ship more for less money!

We brought out the Citicars on a ten-foot trailer, turned sideways to make them fit!

I wish I could be there, but I have to work and I have plans to install 20 new windows in my house.
I also have a busted leaf spring in my commuta-car, busted it at a stop light in the middle of the intersection, looks like I have to get some custom made unless someone else has source.
If you can get some detail photos of body repair as that is what I'm doing on my Citi-car... whole body replacement.
I would have had those shirts done already but it's been busy at work and my shirt designer is moving, so it will be a few weeks before you can get
"Americas best selling electric car" shirts.

If you get a chance could ask Bob Beaumount what happened to the Electric HMV Freeway that he received in exchange for my green Commuta-car, according to the son of HMV Freeway they made 3 of their 3 wheeled single person "cars" in electric and one of them went to commuter verhicles and HMV Freeway received my green commuta-car.
