I too have been revitalized with the warmer weather. I had my best trip the other day at 75.57 mpg on my normal route where my personal best was still in the 60's!

I have been testing out a tuned ECU and it really has made HX lean burn much more simple! and helped net me those sweet numbers.

With it being warmer out, I finally ventured outside to do a few things on the car. I finally installed a kill switch and revised the grill block to be directly in front of the radiator!

Not sure if 100 mpg is in my future, but I want to hit a 70 mpg tank!

Go for it, Jethro! I'm personally striving to achieve 1/2 that mark this summer (50 mpg).

Way to put it out there in public, Mister Bodine.

I'm in, too, with the UFO (Insight). Maybe not for a full tank - it'll take me all summer to burn that much fuel.

But I'm definitely in for a few 100+ round trips of significant length.

Thanks Guys.

I really needed to give myself a kick in the keester and I figured this was the best way to do it. I really enjoy( friendly) competition and look forward to the challenge I've set for myself and anybody who beats me to their own goal gets to say "HA!! Beat ya'!"

Darin, I have every faith in your ability to make that Insight do that very thing. After the trouncing you handed out in Montreal last year,....

I have checked my odo and speed against GPS, clock, and mile markers, and it is surprisingly close. On a 3,000+ mile trip, one keeps ones mind busy as best one can.

D_Dave, I think I'd have to shoot for 150 to really equal what you do with that monster you drive.

I'm thinking that 100 could be done easier if I used my car to commute ONLY and the truck for any other trips. However, I use my car for as much as I can and save the truck for towing, hauling, or when I can't take the car( a foot of snow comes to mind).

The race is on!

Oh, so it's a race competition that you want huh? Okay. I was eying my serving trays (wheel covers), today, thinking that I should REALLY get around to slapping those on soon!

My MPGuino project has come to a halt, as I am determined to not cut the main wiring harness. So, while I'm figuring out how I'm going to go about learn circuit board soldering, I'll get started on some REAL ecomodding! Oh Ya!

Fill today at 55.15mpgUS. Nearly finished off the clutch trying to get unstuck from my driveway after warm temps and rain made it a quagmire. I'm hoping for better tanks soon.

I agree. You were already close in the summer. I think what people are forgetting is you gave up EOC in the winter.

I am thrilled with my "tuned" ecu. Not sure if soemthing like that is possible, but that would certainly give you the boost you need.

They still had carburetors on gas engines when this engine was made. Ma wee diesel is between 80-82. Have to go with injector pump fiddling and injector fiddling. My plan is to run it stock and make it last as long as I can.

Yup, no EOC. Still too cold for that.

And I have sticky, grippy performance tires, not LRR.

100 MPG...1 gallon per 100 miles. Yikes.

I do not think that is possible unless it was dead of night, on the highway, with lots of turning off of the engine. Any sort of idling (lights, stop signs) is going to KILL ya. More power to you if you can do it safely.
