That's an awesome idea about the super glue! I never would have thought of that! Every time I do that now, I'll forever quote you... It's just like when I was making the adapter plate for the motor to transmission. I had to drill down the middle of 60 mm aluminum spacers. It wouldn't work until either metromizer or dremd suggested that I use rubbing alcohol in the holes.
I feel so much better now! A beautiful idea, that super glue! Thank you!!! You rock! I'll keep you in mind about the mill. My wife suggested that I get my own mill, maybe next month! What a woman! hahaha! We'll see if the money works out.
That's awesome that you made the cnc with the stepper motors. It looks like a very interesting project. I think I would like to try that someday.

The open source controller donations have now reached $78! That's 5 mosfets! 2 of them are named Jake and Emma, some very special Labrador Retrievers. I told the donor that I'll be extra careful with those, and during the hard tests to see what the safety limits are on a single mosfet, I'll be sure to use Baby Forkenswift (Darin's donation). hahaha! No NO No!
I wouldn't do that. I'll order a few extra with my Sylvan money for that. Don't worry everyone. Your mosfets will be alive for many years.

 That's kinda what they do in a production assembly line. I learned a lot working with engineers in the electronics industry. I used to be(has been) a supervisor of a computer assembly department for a major manufacturer of cnc burn/drill/cut/punch machines here in Arkansas. And like a fool I got bored with certain things after sitting at a desk for years and years, so I decided to go elsewhere. To make a long story short, the company I wound up at sold out, and they came in one day and just fired all us old farts. now I/we are S.O.L. Oh well, you gotta love Corporate America.

Another random thought:
If you used ten 12 volt batteries to run the car(or twenty 6 volt) , you should not need much in the way of a battery charger for the thing, just a full wave rectifier circuit, with some isolation and regulation on the output side??

120v AC to 120v DC. That's a great question. I don't know the answer though. It sounds right to me. I need to learn about how chargers work.
Intrigued: Do you intend on blowing up the controller? hehe! Good Luck! Ben's going to do his worst with his futuristic Cougar Motor to test it out. Unless your motor is something even more terrifying, like a blue whale or maybe a man eating dinosaur, I think it will be OK!
Good News Bad News: I just fried 2 more mosfets! (cheap ones) but I learned why the previous ones failed! 7 down, 3 more to go! hahaha!
Don't ever, ever turn on the contactor for the B+ & B- to the power board before turning on the control board. Don't even do the precharge resistor before turning on the control board! Don't do it! There really needs to be a safety feature built in so that CAN'T happen from operator error. hmm...
