64.9 MPG in my Honda CRX HF ... I didn't expect that!
Finally filled up again in my '91 CRX HF, I drove 423.5 miles on the last tank. I could have went probably another 150 miles, but it's hard to keep going when you want to check your average all the time. Anyway, I drove 423.5 miles on 6.525 gallons = 64.9 MPG I did the math, and thought, "that can't be right"... so I squeezed the pump again and it was full. It stopped on 6.679, which made it slightly less, so that's what I added to my fuel log.

I used a gps so make sure my odometer is correct. It was off by 2.8% so now i consider this when i calculate my fe. If you don't have a gps use google maps, drive on a street at least 3 miles or so and remember the points where you started and ended then check on google maps to see if it's correct

I haven't done a detailed test, but my commute round trip is 40.2mi on Google Maps and I end up getting back home between 39.5-41 miles on my odometer (probably from lane changes, etc). I would say its really close, I'll have to see exactly... I do have a nice fuel friendly drive, the roads are mostly 2 lanes each way with 55mph limit, some really curvy one lane 45mph, then city parkway that's 30mph.

In May of 08 I drove my 94 VX 300 miles on 4.627 gallons of gas at an average speed of 64 MPH, on the original tires that were 14 years old, and a 245 pound passenger.
Great work Isaac.
regards
Mech

Congrats, Isaac! That's almost better than finding spare change in the couch cushions, eh?

Thanks guys! I had a slightly lower tank average this time because I just didn't try as hard to hypermile...this tank though may be my best yet. It's a 10 Gal tank and I have driven 200 miles on 1/4 tank, the gauge isn't accurate, but it's better than usual consumption.

Nice, but your fuel log does not seem to show the last one or two fillups. As the warmer months come along, we have a little fun hitting new highs and some of the members get into the team competitions, so keep your "team honda" fuel log current!

That's weird, I make sure it updates each time I add a new one. I usually have to delete my cache/cookies and everything... hmm
