I'm actually further from that happy place. I used to be able to fit almost 14 gallons in the Clunker. The fuel gauge would go past the full mark, and if I wasn't careful, it'd spill when the pump shut off, but I would get 525-550 miles on a tank and almost 50 miles before it was down to the full mark. Now when I fill up, it doesn't quite reach the full mark, and I've only been able to even reach 500 miles once. I'd love to be able to get 520 miles per tank consistently, which is 4 complete round trips to/from work. (That means I can visit the same cheap gas station consistently as well.)
