I like this idea. I have seen some small deep cycle batteries that are still fairly light... I wonder.

I would look to the sound system (for substitutions that are lighter) and to the engine (also for lighter substitutions). Body substitutions, such as using existing body parts as a plug for a mold for fiberglass fabrication of identical, paintable parts that are lighter (trunk, fenders, hood would probably be easiest). Lightweight aluminum pulleys of the same sizes, like wheels, would reduce effectively twice as much "weight" by reducing twice their weight in rotational mass. These are ideas I have. My car is like an ancient Buddhist temple that monks are gradually completely rebuilding in replica as the parts rot or break.
