They took a civic and did all kinds of weight reduction mods to it.
It took a crap load of money to do some of these mods.
There is no way a majority of them would ever be economical.
On imports like Hondas and Toyota who already use paper thin sheet metal the fiberglass parts are almost as heavy if not heavier than the OE parts.
On older American vehicles the fiberglass parts are usually always lighter.
