The reason why it makes no economic sense to frack is because under Obama there was an ever present threat that some sort of fracking ban would go through.
If some one has a gas well that will produce for 10 or 20 years then it may need to be fracked to get it going, fracking may not even be an option in the future. So they frack now, not later.
The fracking boom would have leveled off once gas prices went down, but no it kept right on going because of the anti fracking crowd.
So all those useful idiots actually caused most of the fracking they were against.
The waiting list for fracking was up to 3 years at one point, one mudder of a ban could send list back to a 2 years wait.
By then you might not get to have your well done.

The same thing works with gun bans. Instead of buying one black rifle or just thinking about buying one, everyone who is even thinking about it goes out and buys 2 or 7.
