After a lengthy color matching process, I decided on duct tape silver for my upper grille block. I had to leave room to open the hood latch, though I make come back with a strip to reduce the size of the hole.

Total time spent: ~30 minutes
Total cost: ~$0, someone was kind enough to leave an auction sign somewhere

Also unclogged my washer fluid nozzles both above the hatch and on the hood.

EDIT: You can see where I went crazy with touchup paint. ^^

Very neat idea! Never thought of that.

How did you attach the corroplast on the hood?

There are 5 holes, I dunno what they're for but nothing was using them. The little plastic push-thingies similar to those that hold the belly pan on work great.

Switched over to 87 octane, and it seems I'm able to get more bang in lean burn, generally, though there's still some mystery about it. Sometimes LB is able to maintain a higher speed at 75-80MPG, and sometimes it actually maintains a lower speed than just letting off the throttle without engaging LB.

Combination of 87, maybe a bit of finesse with the pedal and my upper grille block and I was able to maintain ~72MPG @ 70MPH, with the A/C running, for most of my trip back from South Florida earlier today. So far this tank is 60% used up and averaging 72. Looks like I'm going to have 6 consecutive improving tanks.

Yeah, me too. Here I am getting serious about aeromods just hoping to hit 50 on a tank ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: OH YEAH, forgot to say: NICE WORK OP! Nice lookin' car. I wanted a 1st gen manual insight BAD, but couldn't find one that wasn't either a pile of crap or super expensive.
