New record trip!
I'm in Orlando for the weekend, and driving across town this evening I averaged 90.9mpg over 20 miles of city driving with a mostly cold start. Tallahassee's hills and congestion have thus far prevented me from getting these kinds of numbers, but traffic was light (or rather there was none, just some scattered cars) and I was able to time most of the lights. Had I been shooting for maximum mpg from the start, I think I could've broken 100. No P&G was used, I just putted along at around 37mph in lean burn.
Edit: Duplicated that mileage again in daylight, 88.5 over 24 miles in midday traffic. Generally speaking, I have to very careful and there's still a luck component to get into the 70's in Tallahassee.
In the Del Sol hills are no impediment to "decent" mileage, especially if I used EoC, but they prevent staying in lean burn in the Insight.
Just thinking aloud, but I suspect the differences in mileage attainable are proportionally very different in these two cars mostly because of smaller parasitic losses with the Insight. I can drive like an asshole in Toothless and get as low as 28, but careful driving without EoC will only bring me up into the high 30's, with 50ish attainable by careful EoC in level areas. The insight, on the other hand, can be driven in the lower 40's with aggressive driving (I've even read about one owner having a lifetime mileage of 37), up into the low 100's if the stars align.

I can attest to Tallahassee hurting MPG's.
I usually average ~65 or more on my way to/from Tally (US-19/27) according to my MPGuino if I'm careful, and that usually drops to a average of high 50's once I get to my destination in Tally.Hills aren't so-so bad for MPG but it's the hills with the stop and go that kills my MPG.Coming from a dead-stop on a incline is brutal for my little CRX's 1.5.I still got 62.8(verified at pump) the other day to Best-Buy and back so I must be doing something right.
Congrats on the 90MPG,I see you checked another milestone off.
Keep it up!

Have had a very busy end of my summer and no time for mods. Lost a tank because my wife filled and didn't record any data, but I know it would've broken my streak as she had plenty of stop-and-go trips with the A/C set to "Auto" (prevents engine auto-stop). Have 2 more tanks to put in from this past week though; drove up to Little Rock to visit the folks.
Hoping to replace the missing belly panel soon.

Been reading this thread all morning with fascination.
Yesterday I finally broke down and bought myself a 5-spd 2000 Insight in Longwood, which is about 70 miles from Lakeland. I got it for three grand, which seems like a good deal considering the shape it's in, with fully functioning IMA. It has 200,000 miles, but it's got AYECEEEEEE, and an aftermarket Kenwood sound system/navi/dvd player!
On the way back to Lakeland down I-4, through the inevitable Orlando traffic jam, and a second one just outside of Lakeland due to a torrential downpour, without having a clue how to really drive it, with the A/C and stereo both blasting, and lights and wipers on, I averaged 61 mpg and fully charged the IMA battery. Half the trip I was doing 75 mph, and the other half was at 5 mph, and still getting phenomenal mpgs.
I'm already in love with this car! I've had to work my butt off for months to hit 60 mpg in the Black Widow, and the Insight is doing it on the first tank!
I'll re-read this thread a dozen times, cause I already see stuff on here to look for on mine!

I'll start a build thread for the Turtle later today.
I don't mean to hijack Ecky's thread, I'm just gonna follow his lead!
