Ok so I have some miles now with the boat tail and there does not seem to be much of an increase in FE. Granted, since I graduated I no longer do the 281 mile highway trips to Austin and most of my driving is about 60/40 hwy/city driving now. Also, when I am on the highway I go faster than I used to. I do think I can coast longer on some points but it could just be in my head. I will update once I have about a thousand more miles.

You changed too many variables to see the result: route, usage, cruising speed.

The best you can hope for is to see a difference in steady speed cruising,highway only miles.
And I saw a 9-mpg natural variability at constant speed,depending on terrain,wind,rain,over around 3,200-miles of travel.
