I watch TV once per year. Yesterday was the day, but I didn't finish watching the game yet, so don't tell me the outcome (even though I don't care who won).

These days it's podcasts, Youtube videos, and audiobooks.

I called my son yesterday and woke him up during the half-time. I said he should thank me for him not missing the second half. He said they sang God Bless America and the National Anthem. PDW says it was the National Anthem and a Black National Anthem. Which did you see? Much kneeling?

Car & Driver published a sketch in the 1970s showing what cars would look like in the 1990s and I said no way. Remember wedges, anyone?

I'd say I don't watch television, but I tend to go online and write stuff on this forum called "Ecomodder" (maybe you've heard of it) and, inidentally, I use our TV as a computer monitor. That way I don't need a separate computer monitor. If only we used it as a TV too.

My TV isn't hooked up to the antenna, so it's acting as a monitor. I ran the antenna signal to my Plex server, so if I want to watch "TV" on my TV, I've got to stream it from Plex.

Organizing ones life around what time a show is on is so 20th century. Plex records shows and then deletes the commercials afterwards.

I like entertainment, but my problem is I like knowing how things work even more, so the only time I'm watching something for the entertainment value is with my wife (home shows mostly).

You sound like me. Only I haven't gotten around to build a Plex server. With my wife taking so many photos I probably should build a NAS first for backup purposes.

I have an old CRT I had moddified to accept Y-Pb-Pr and RGB signals but then it started having problems with the image. I need to figure out what's wrong with it. I also have a VGA CRT that does 1080p quite nicely, but it can't do interlaced video, which is the whole point of having a CRT as nothing these days can display an interlaced video besides a CRT and only a handful of ol' plasmas.

I have hopes nanoLED will be the type of display technology that can display anything and everything for what I want it for.

What always got me was you'd sit there slack-jawed for hours, then 15 seconds of something mindbending would go by and there was no way to get it back again.

Many WiFi routers can be attached to USB storage and act as a NAS. You might look into that if you've already got a spare USB drive and a router with USB inputs.

I started out with that solution, but since I get computers for free, used a tower as RAID 1 storage plus surveillance recording system.
