A Volt has back seats, a bigger hatch with those seats down (than an unmodified Insight), sportier handling and better acceleration.
It's tiny, but it's most definitely a lot more car.

I suppose my reading comprehension was not the best. I misinterpreted what you wrote as "I have a lot more car." Apologies. It was all in good humor. For the life of me, I couldn't see it because I read it wrong.

Finally got around to waxing Ruby and took a couple of glamour shots.
Don't buy a Harbor Freight 10 inch buffer unless you want to finish up the wax job by hand. I bought one a couple of months ago and the head broke off the first time I used it. I took it back and got a replacement, and as I was using it today it also broke in the same place

Harbor Freight is the tool equivalent of Ikea. Some of the stuff is inexpensive, some of it is just plain cheap.

My progression of eco cars over the last six years (plus a 2-ton non-eco behemoth to start it off)
The Land Rover Disco got about 12 mpg no matter how I drove it, at a time when gas was around 4 bucks a gallon and the construction industry had nosedived, making it hard to pay the bills. At the time I was using it for my daily commute plus delivering newspapers in it 7 days a week, so the fuel expense was killing me.
This brought about the purchase of Black Widow, my trusty old Festiva. This was my first real eco car, and I P&G'ed my way to around 60 mpg in it. I bought it cheap and used it for my commute for a couple of years, plus I mowed yards on the weekend and the push mower, weed eater and blower fit really well in the back
Then there were Turtle and Ron Burgundy, two awesome G1 Insights that I had a blast in. A guy on here recently told me he's bought Ron Burgundy and will shortly begin the process of bringing it back up to specs. He should consider adding back on the 3-button shift knob when he gets the IMA up and running
And then there are the two Volts. It's never been so easy to hypermile as it is in a Volt, the car basically does all the work for you. The Volt works out perfectly for my 38.1 mile two-way commute, and my company lets me charge for free, so for my purposes the Volt is a win!

Ruby hit the 75 mile estimated EV range mark yesterday
After I took the pic I realized it's time to clean the interior!

That's still really good for the 2012 Volt

I was having issues charging the Volt, and it seems that the end of the heavy duty extension cord I was using burned out where it connects to the charger. So I started charging with just the charge cord and it has no issues so far.
Since I charge at work (for free) in a big place with hundreds of people coming and going through the parking lot I invested 3.99 in some security. I'll see an immediate ROI if my charge cord doesn't get stolen

Crazy numbers you are getting!
My '17 seems to get 54-57 miles no matter what I do. I did see 59 after a long slow Sunday drive once. Tires are still newish Pirrelli Centaraturo P7s (2000 miles) so maybe it will get better??
My '13 would return 40-41 in the summer months, so I was really hoping to see in the 60+ range with this car.
Nice lock. I've worried about it a bit, but there is a security shack and enough cameras that I don't think anyone would be that bold.
