EVs don't make sense if they don't charge themselves in sunlight.

teardrops

AeroStealth has experienced better mpg pulling one of the largest 5th-wheels compared to a smaller lighter, 'teardrop.'
And while a CASITA returns better mpg than a 16' JAYCO Hummingbird, a Papoose or larger boat-tailed Bowlus will provide the optimum.
It's all about the rear end.

Rivian fleet burns to the ground and lives a scorched hazmat nightmare.

So much for those electric vehicle fires that don't happen and are easy to put out of they do.sounds like ammunition cooking off.

' hazmat'

I'm getting rich from my hazmat stocks. These conflagrations are money in my pocket! Profits pay for gasoline tanker fires that bring down interstate highway bridges! Natural gas and propane house explosions are another source of high-profit, cheap real estate investment.

What would possibly go wrong? Flammable electrolytes, plates made from a water reactive metal...

Unless there's new battery chemistry, rechargeable lithium batteries don't use metallic lithium.
Is the cathode water reactive?

In Texas, we now have 'battery farms' to go with our 'solar farms.'
The power is available day and night, and delivered, long-distance by the utility provider.

It's completely automated. Analog-to-digital signals of voltage/ frequency falling towards a programmed threshold triggers the directional power-electronics to 'balance' the grid.
Even a cloud passing over a solar farm, or wind lapse on a turbine can set things in motion instantaneously. Thanks TESLA !
