Happy (belated?) Birthday Ecomodder! I haven't been checking my email the last couple of days! In ten years, I hope that the epoch of the ugly square high rise office building front end design that's now popular with pickup trucks is finally over and we are traveling in gorgeous, quiet, smooth powered aerodynamic EVs that get their fuel from the sun. Our Prius and Insight are still doing fine, for now, but I do want to make the switch to EV soon.

Pretty sure you're in. The raffle works by picking a random post and awarding the person. You could get a fabulous prize just from that last post.

11 years is over half my age, i wish i had been able to join earlier really.
my biggest automotive change will hopefully be an electric vehicle, if not a hybrid. i had a 2003 jetta wagon tdi which was getting me very good fuel economy, as well as reliability and i had planned a lot of modifications to get it close to 0 emissions, as well as up to around 300 hp (off of 90 hp stock), and over 100 mpg! mental fuel economy, especially for the power and the fact i'm in the states. unfortunately i had to ditch it, and i ended up with an audi allroad which gets such bad fuel economy. 350 miles on an 18 gallon tank i would like a hybrid mechanical injection diesel, with def, and cng bi-fueling. someday i will build the ultimate commuter and it will be hopefully be before a decade from now that i have it finished, but my projects usually take twice as long as i assume

Well, Happy Birthday again! The years just fly by don’t they. Looking forward to retiring in about three years, I won’t miss the 60 mile/day commute. Then I will just drive my pickup as needed, I only buy fuel a couple times a year for that truck now. I have been driving those same 60 miles/day for the last 14 years. The Metros were fun and really saved during the $4.50/gallon days. This Saturn gets 30 consistantly and is a very nice comfortable car.

Happy Birthday Ecomodder! Can't believe it's been over 10 years. You have built a mighty empire, Darin!
Within the next ten years I will definitely have a Benevolent Google World Government EV and then, soon after, when the glorious Benevolent Raethon Supply Cartel carbon nanotube graphene quantum battery revolution happens, hahaha, I will see myself convert my Stinson to electric and charge it off of my 78% efficient garage top solar array while electrodes draw the excess current from my body floating in my corporeal isolation support pod VR interface. "Long live the Benevolent Sentient Singularity!" I will gurgle through my breathing tube.
Cheers!

Yes, but which three do you think will have survived?

I'm thinking that there will be more hybrids. Hopefully similar to the Volt that have a electric system with a gas generator. I'm going to wait and see how battery replacement cost is before moving though. Hopefully I'll be driving something that can achieve 50 mpg by then.

i'll keep lurking in the background, and maybe do something worth making a thread about. i do usually get over the EPA MPG ratings in my cars, but mostly due to driving smarter. current car isn't really a poster child for ecomodding anyways, since it's a 300hp turbo charged 4 cylinder, but i do mod for efficiency. it's actually just something i do, maybe a little because i'm an ME. always striving to do things simpler, more efficient, cheaper, etc. at work and at home.
carry on...

Happy b-Day, Ecomodder!
well, certainly turning to E85 will be my personal big change in the future. Also researching wood gas but it'll take a while
