Looks great Quasimoto. I think the closer we get to looking like an airfoil the more aerodynamically clean our vehicles will be. Rounded in front, pointy in the back. I could be wrong. Keep it up, it's cool to watch your work.

Cd: have a look at those pics. I don't think there will be any A-B-A testing. That's pretty much permanent. Btw, where's your car?

Yes. I know. I was being a smartarse.
Sorry to throw negativity out there, but I have to doubt the results without A-B-A-B testing.

If you look at the attached photos of my car that i tufted, you can clearly see that there is attached flow all along the front of the car except where there is turbulent flow around the wheel wells.Note that there is even attached flow around the fake brake ducts / fog light ducts / whatever they are thingees. My guess = Simply extending the bumper and rounding it off will only cause more air to go under the dirty underside of the car. Any improvements most likely came from the grille being blocked.

Sorry to be a jerk.

...I did a regression analysis on your mpg values at 55, 60 and 65 and the 2nd-order polynomial equation came up with R-squared = 1.0 (perfect):

MPG = 0.0148*(MPH^2) - 2.0419*(MPH) + 112.81; RR = 1.0000

...do those numbers sound 'close' to what you're actually getting at those speeds?
I really haven't tested at those MPH's. But I would expect those results to hold true. I wish I was as good at math as you are.

Something seems a little off. From the start, your car should have had attached flow with the stock bumper. It seems you meerly extended the bumper and rounded it a bit.
The back of the car is a real drag.

CD, perhaps you missed my previous post; where I said that there was over 2500 miles of real world testing before making the mod. I'm now going on close to 2000 miles of real world after mod testing. BTW: I've been trying to find a post of your mods. Perhaps you could post the links here so we can all see if you're talking from experience or just parroting what someone else said. It would be nice if you had more than one still photo though.

A VERY nice start! The blade front end reminds me of the Indy or F1 look!

Thanks LB, I don't think I could afford to feed one of those F1's. LOL
