RE: the aftermarket;
For most people an automobile or light truck is an appliance for doing work, getting to work, grocery store and other errands.
Road vehicles are no longer the key to adulthood, independence and social interaction or personal identity.
However, some owners of sports, sporty cars and light trucks still have a love for them.
The middle of the road mediocrity of the 4-door sedan has never been the forefront of the automotive hobbyists world.
RE: the market and manufactures offerings;
When it makes them money and does not take from profit, then it gets implemented.
The opposite of the aftermarket passion that drives most of this into our area of interest.
