Around 1950, two twin brothers in Dresden dreamed of having their own Porsche. With the support of the body builders Arno and Helfried Lindner and with old war technology (a bucket), a Beetle engine, sheet steel from the Czechoslovakia and a lot of improvisation, a prototype was built. Ferry Porsche found out about it and supported the project with parts. A small series of 13 cars was built. The Lindner coupe looked similar to a 356 but was longer and had 4 seats.
Kubelwagen wheelbase. Still not as cool as the 1947 Volkhart-Sagitta V2.

I wasn't going to cite this, but thought kach22i might like the hovercraft in the bed.

They call it a car but it has a pickup truck cab/bed outline. They never explain that knob on top the Targa roll bar.

I have already seen small domes like that on boats. IIRC that's an antenna for a GPS or for a radio.

One of the many reasons I don't like those folks at Rinpoop much. They do NOT understand design, although they might do something less offensive at times.

Hovercraft are amphibious, meaning via a flat plane/ramp one can fly up into the bed of a truck or top of snowmobile trailer. Also the small ones are light enough that 2-3 people can lift one on to a trailer/bed top or even car roof.

There would never be a need for a hoist or crane , unless of course your desire is to express pure ignorance - or maybe "let's be different to add complexity".

Definitely "let's add complexity to be different."

Having almost being born inside a VW Beetle, I guess it's needless to say I'm not so fond of some complexities added only for the sake of "being different".
