Appreciate that you took the time to post that. Where we're likely to find common ground is your libertarian values. You're less inclined to favor politicians controlling our body.

The x axis (left/right) extends that notion of bodily autonomy to include autonomy of the pocketbook.

I think that link at #517 is corrupted.

Your Political Compass

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.74
This system doesn't have the GIMP installed or I'd crop a screen shot.

I see that the X axis is economic. What would a collective/sovereign axis be called?

If one axis is economic, then I have to say that the test is mostly meaningless to me. I'm into certain ethics and certain wisdom. Should humanity continue to destroy what remains of Earth's ecosystems? Should humanity have weapons deployed that can kill millions of people in short order, and would probably destroy society? Should there be an effective international justice system, or should international injustice prevail via the barbarity of economic weapons and explosives? Do animals have the right to not have their bodies and lives exploited? Should the wealthiest nation-state ever have people living on the street? Should the wealthiest nation ever have people going without proper medical care, or go bankrupt due to medical care? Should we invest in preventing pandemics, even if it's a negative return on investment (the Covid-19 pandemic could've been prevented)? Should there be billionaires? Here's an easy one to answer: Should someone that tried to steal an election be eligible for election? Should the State have the legal right to kill humans (death penalty, economic warfare, warfare, policing)? Should lethal weapons be replaced with less-than-lethal weapons? Should lethal weapons be illegal to manufacture? Should pharmaceutical businesses be held responsible for their unethical roles in illicit use of legal drugs? Should people be working 40 or more hours per week? Should tax revenues be used for war and the threat of war? Should women be more or less forced to give birth? Should humanity continue being in competition for resources and wealth or should humanity be in cooperation by trying to create well-being for all, especially with regard to what remains of Earth's ecosystems?

I count 16 hypotheticals.

Since this is the Scott Adams thread, ask WWSAD? He would say if you have a laundry list, pick the most important one.

Here's an easy one to answer: Should someone that stole the last election be eligible for re-election? Then, am I asking about 2016 or 2020?

So.....

After two weeks of no land line/DSL last month; we had another rainstorm and it's gone again. The service ticket is scheduled for May the 3rd.

I'll have to come to the library every other day for a connection.

At the very end today, SA got emotional and said that if his life flashed before his eyes, the 35 years of Dilbert wouldn't occupy a moment. Memories of watching Disney movies with his step kids would be what he thought of.

... and now Disney's ruined that. There's always the classics though, that told stories of virtue instead of the absolutely morally repugnant "listen to your heart" garbage. Pursuit of desire requires no encouragement, as that's what children and babies do naturally. Telling your heart to submit itself to reason is the tricky thing.

Those aren't hypotheticals- they're questions for the political compass test. That political compass test is two-dimensional. It's only usefulness seems to be that it tries to pen people into the absurdly superficial American political system. I don't know much about Scott Adams' musings, and it appears that's there's no good reason to. Since you're a fan of Buckminster Fuller, at least ask what he would think and do. I say he'd laugh at the political compass and propose something that's three-dimensional and has more connection points, such as a political geodesic sphere.
