Those Crazy Canucks and Their Wacky Wipers
Only a Canadian could come up with this.
It would be nice not to have to reach out and snap your wipers.
Anybody have any experience with these? Do they work?

Never heard of this till now. But for years Ive been reading about heated wiper blades invented by a guy in the UP. Everblades » Home The plow truck guys love them.

That's funny. Never seen them, but I had read about them before.
And I do have experience fiddling with my wiper stalk to "stall" the wiper in the up position so I can reach out the window and smack the ice off it (at a stop light, of course). I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's done that.

Looks crappy to me... considering i have to smack it against the windshield pretty hard repeatedly sometimes, no way a little shaker is going to do it. I was hoping to see something that maybe got in the way of the stroke when activated and bumped the wiper out. Heck, i just realized that could be done mechanically with a lever or something.

Real men catch and smack the wiper on the fly while looking at the road through the 3 inches spot that is starting to defrost at the bottom of the windshield.
Nah seriously, I don't know about this gadget. I'd be more willing to trust heated blades than blade vibrators.

Guilty as charged. Same with stalling the wiper up and commence snapping.
MazdaMatt has a good point -- I wonder if you could attach a cable or rope to a certain pivot point on the wiper arm, and operate it on the fly...

Hiya,
I just keep 'em running (on intermittent or low) and keep on lifting and snapping them down, until the ice clears out -- and then I install winter blades...

I have never heard of someone having to snap a wiper while driving. of course here in TN we never see past one centimeter of snow(which is enough to close schools), but plenty of ice. But still no snapping here...
