Ive always had to reach out and snap the wipers every now and then while going down the road in the winter. My folks always did it too. Just part of living up north.
I run Anco winter blades year round on all my vehicles, so did my folks. I just like them better, and they dont freeze up as bad. Only problem is on my cars, I have to cut down the stop blocks at the base of the windshield, because the blades are taller and theyll form indents in the middle of the blade and leave an unwiped arc. Click and clack said running winter blades year round will burn up your wiper motor. Hundreds of thousands of miles and Ive never had a wiper motor go bad.
