I do not have much chloroplast leftover. There's a shop in auburn that sells 4 by 8 foot sheets.

You will find that smooth wheel covers out of plastic do not last. Get aluminum pizza pans.

What happens to the plastic ones that does not already happen to the other aero mods? I assume impact damage?

I have kind of avoided any type of metal covers due to weight and figuring out attachment. If the plastic ones last atleast a year, I don't mind spending $6 a year to make them and a couple of hours .

The suspension keeps a lot of abuse from getting to the rest of the car. Wheel covers, OTOH, have been falling off cars forever.

The zip tie method tends not to last More the a few weeks. When they come off it rtends to be at hi speeds and around other cars. I drilled and tapped my steel rims. That holds the pans on nicely.

Come over some time and I can show you what I did on my summer and winter rims.

Did you use "cheap" zip ties? I'm pretty sure the ones I used have a small steel band inside them, so it isn't 100% plastic. Drilling and tapping the rims would probably work well .

I have never seen zip ties with steel in them.

My steel rims looked bad so why not put alumunin pizza pans on. Drilling and bolting work well. I got alumin rims for my winter tires and I used 5 1/4-20 stainless bolts on each. That works very well. My three bolt summers work ok. But the pans rattle a bit.

If the zip ties work I have a family member who might use them. I would like to see how you did it. Pictures?

I attached the plastic just by running the zip tie though the plastic, around the holes in the rim and back and zipped very tight. It literately ripped the coloplast a bit, but it don't have any slop. Movement = get ate away. Nothing really special except a high quality zip tie.

I think hubcap design should be based on every seventies movie car chase scene. A car would make a sharp turn and a hubcap would fall off, only to magically reappear in the next scene.

I have mixed feelings on this article. The journalist did a good job of framing you as an active part of the FE game, but I'm not sure the article would be relate-able to readers with no ecomodding experience.

Boattails, side skirts, etc. All good, but foreign to most. On the plus side, the message is clear when he compares your real FE to the EPA. Maybe that powerful piece of information will help readers understand that they really to have power in terms of their personal fuel consumption.

Overall, it's good coverage. I hope they post the video to YouTube.
