Can't turn them inward, either?

I didn't mean to raise them, I meant to put your arms closer to your core. My buddy's CBR1000's bars are adjustable inward/outward for rider comfort.. never tried that specific mod w/ a Ninja 250, just guessed that it could be done, since it can on other bikes.

Yup, they are not clipped onto the fork tubes from the factory. There is only one mount and you cant tweak them without buying clip ons.

Still, it hasn't been a problem for me at 6'1", 185lbs.

The best I've gotten on my XT225 is about 82MPG.

Normally I get 65-70MPG. Some city, some highway.

I've had a few older motorbikes over the years, though never pushed to get high mpg's. My first was a 1982 Honda C70 Passport, aftermarket carb and a few other mods. I think I hit about 120mpg once, but it's not a big bike by any stretch.

I had a 1984 Toyota Tercel 4WD wagon that would hit as high as 42mpg in Missouri winters in the mid-90's, but that's as good as it gets for my cages.

My current is a 2007 Ninja 250 with about 27k miles. I've put a tall custom Lexan windscreen on for comfort, a rack with a top case and saddlebags. I've swapped the gears for a 15/41 set from JTSprockets, the tires for Kenda's K657 130/90-16 rear and K671 100/90-16 front. Lots of other little farkles, but it's mostly set up for comfortable commuting. Even so, I hit 81mpg on a fairly straight and somewhat hilly stretch of Hwy 29 North of Austin. I was running about 65mph. Don't remember the temp, but it was spring. I need to strip it down and see what I can max it out at someday...

Nice bike!!!! Good to see a fellow ninja 250 rider on here.

You have pretty much the same bike setup as me, I'm just a little lower on gearing. What shield do you have? One of mikes shields?

Have you messed with the jetting at all?

Custom Lexan windscreen. Dremel cut, lower vent to reduce buffeting (really helps, think ST1200/Concours). I made a template on clear Mylar using the stock mounting points, including the mirror mounts. I don't use the two upper stock mounts, it helps keep the screen more upright. More at the link.

Jets are stock.

hello all i'm riding a 600 fazer 2001 commuting 47 motorway miles and am achieving 194 per 11.94 ltrs = 73 mpg. which is around 55-60 mph at just under 5000rpm

most blokes at work laugh at my 'grandad' riding but at 112p per litre can't afford to cane it. It takes me an hour to complete the journey but going 70 - 80 it only knocks off around 10 minutes which isn't worth the fuel.
some blokes at work are actually coming around to the idea of eco riding, most don't even check their tyre pressures regulary.
got a smaller sprocket to fit today 47t so will see what that does.
