This is at least the 2nd incident like this. Does seem trivial to look at train schedules during the logistics phase of planning.

I live in a major train traffic corridor, Amtrak, BNSF & UP and every so often a CSK. Rail Freight doesn't really have a tight schedule but Amtrak does. Rail freight had a couple day window for delivery.
THE Wide/oversize load experience I have: if it's over a certain width, length or weight, you need flashing lights and signs, then escorts and pretrip authorization/approval (sometimes in writing) from whoever owns the road the load goes on. Escorts are responsible for side road traffic and rail crossings and have cellphones or radio communication with someone who can stop side traffic. Really big oversize needs police/highway patrol escort who have radios and cell phones anymore and generally know whom to call.
Afaik, if you get centerpunched by a train, someone screwed up badly somewhere but not the load driver.

Wind and solar power is working so well in Australia the power company needs to be able to remotely shut off your air conditioner to keep the power grid going.

More than anyone else. But still just a fraction of their total energy production. For now.
It takes energy to make solar panels, but it is just a fraction of the energy they produce.
It takes energy to build a coal plant too, but then pollution does not stop when the plant is ready.

Ha that aged well and still ain't happening.
6 years later and who knew china would still have all those coal plants going, was going to open more, slow roll the switch to renewables? Oh yeah I did.

Wind turbines do need a lot of oil. Usually nearly a thousand gallons inside the turbine and another 1,000 to 1,200 in the pad transformer at the base of every turbine.
The gear oil and hydraulic fluid has a life up to 3 years where the transformer oil should last the life of a wind turbine.
Killing the snake is a metaphor.
Pretty sure wind turbines off set the CO2 they produce.
