Call ahead to the store (or check online) to see if they actually have the item you're looking for rather than showing up and finding they don't have it and wasting gas on nothing.

I'm not sure about 4-wheel discs -- more aggressive cornering (on/off ramp?)

Anyways, I'd like to try the technique, but my RR rotor is really warped, but it's too thin to turn -- It seems to heat up after a while and the rubbing noise dissipates, but I know the rest are in less-than-flat condition as well (I'm too cheap to replace it just yet). Another discussion...

New thread with ideas for repeatable, substantial testing procedure for the efficacy of the idea?

That's a good one. A phone uses less gas than a car.

I don't understand Tip #71:

When changing direction, use brakes rather than engine

When going from reverse to a forward gear (or vice versa), don't use the engine to stop the vehicle after the gear change, use the brake.

What does this mean?

88) Cycle the A/C if you have to use it

If you have to use the air conditioner, set the air flow to recirculate and manually turn the A/C on and off as needed. For greater efficiency, switch it on when under light engine loads or deceleration fuel cut off and off when under moderate/heavy loads. (Note: some newer vehicles do this automatically.)

Anyone know which vehicles do this? I was wondering about this recently. Is it possible to acquire this technology in an older car?

Thanks

Sort of...

Install a NO momentary contact switch at the toP of the throttle, and wire it to the a/c clutch circuit.

The clutch won't engage unless you're not on the throttle.

Its bad for the transmission to change from forward to reverse while moving, and if you aren't using the brakes to stop before changing directions, you're using engine drag, which takes longer, and uses fuel. It's a fairly insignificant diff, but its there, and needed to be addressed.
