Here's another idea. Get yourself a milling machine, and make a 125cc turbo diesel. Since I don't think anybody makes a 125cc diesel of any kind, you'll have to make all the parts yourself, but imagine the fuel economy. Plus the torque. I think even a 125cc at 50psi would make enough torque to have fun with.

Code:
^ | <- Box -> | V
My thinking ->

If only... I'd have built small diesel engines for all my cars if I had the facilities to do so.

Order some steel, or go buy some scrap, and MAKE the tools you need to make a diesel engine.

Com'on now, somebody has to make those tools, it might as well be you.

Figure it this way: There is a market for small diesels, if this forum is any indication. You could make a lucrative business out of it.

You mean you need bumpers so as to pick up dinner on the way home, right?

My back of the napkin calcs suggested that a 20 hp diesel could push a reverse trike streamliner along at 70mph all day long with an efficient transmission. So, for a non-freeway vehicle, you should be fine. I'd prefer a 250 cc, but in diesel.

Can't wait to see the non-lossy CV tranny design. Lots and lots and lots of folks have taken a stab at that and never quite hit it. By the way, what would be wrong with patenting it and making just a decent living of the licenses?

Finest regards,

troy

You know, Hatz makes small air-cooled diesel engines. Some have transplanted them into motorcycles with reasonable success.

Hatz Diesel Engine — 10 HP, Recoil Start, 1in. x 2.84in. Shaft, Model# 1B40U2RS-9928 | Diesel | Northern Tool + Equipment

Yes, they are spendy.

Yeah, spendy is the problem. I already have the 125. Problem with this whole project is that I don't have the title to it, and can't get it by any inexpensive legal means.
