Indeed. This is a good approach to decrease turbo-lag. You may know about the last 4-cyl Formula 1 engine, a BMW which had a single turbo while the V6 engines had 2 smaller turbos, and were less prone to turbo-lag. That was in the '80s, and AFAIK the only driver to win a championship with that engine was Nelson Piquet.

Well,

i pivoted the plan to utilizing a bus.

i picked up a 2004 Eldorado Aerotech shuttle bus based off a E450 chassis this weekend.

Like the campers I was looking at, it is a 1 piece fiberglass shell except the cab itself, so I have something that should be relatively water tight once i reseal the windows. I think i'm going to boat tail it, but, instead of having some kind of external storage only in the boat tail, i'm going to build out a walk around queen bed on a raised platform inside the tail - assuming the clearances work out.

I'm torn - on one hand, i think it'd be really cool to get a 3d scan of the bus and maybe do some fluid dynamics modeling, on the other it'd be easier to do the "tuft test" but doesn't look as cool..

It's got a wheelchair lift!

That could be turned into a porch or pop-out.

I always wanted a school bus with a cherry-picker so I could sit in the top of an apple tree and read books.

I have a design for a housing factory on a flatbed truck that has two hydrualic lifts at the front of the bed. On one side, for a unit of plywood; and on the other a unit of 2x4. With a Maslow CNC router for the plywood and a compound miter saw bench for the 2x4, house parts would come flying off the back.

That's a good plan. Most of the motorhomes I see nowadays are repurposed shuttle buses BTW.

I remember seeing one of these in 2019, from the fleet of a circus. Looks large enough to be a good base for a quite comfortable motorhome.
