More progress! I finally got my windows tinted, so there *should* be less AC usage in the warmer weather...

Mother Nature decided to un-ecomod my car, sending a raccoon to run in front of my car and thus badly loosen (knocked 18/26 screws loose from the bumper) my air dam, to where I needed to remove it totally... it works out though, since I had just bought new lawn edging to re-do the lip and add side skirt extensions... more progress coming!

So I got side tracked and ended up wanting to try something else... my lower grille block is made just from layer upon layer of black strapping tape and nothing else... I wanted to do something about that, as since I left my place of employment about a month ago I no longer have an endless supply of the tape with which to repair the grille block lol...
I grabbed a small sheet of coroplast and cut two 5x36” pieces, attached them together in the middle with zip ties and hot melt and cut out the hole for the grille opening... did some reinforcing around the opening with some copper wire inserted in the fluting in the material and I now have a prototype...
I plan to use 45 screws or so to hold it to the car so hopefully it’s on there for good lol... the one question remains though, should I paint it to match the car (making the car stand out even more) or should I paint it black?

I was also thinking black but since coroplast is so damned hard to paint (and the front of the car gets chips like no other) I considered doing a vinyl wrap on the part...

Agree on painted coroplast on the front - my lower grille block is painted black coroplast and it's pretty chipped up. Mostly from driving along dirt roads.
I wonder how well vinyl wrap would stick to coroplast. I imagine it would look pretty good.
Black coroplast is available but IIRC it's a bit more expensive than the normal white stuff.

The texture of the coroplast shows through more than I hoped, looks like a really good job of black duct tape on cardboard. Mine is a gloss, a less shiney vynil would probably be better

Or maybe carbon fiber, where the style of the carbon would cover the lines
