You're thinking of acrylic. Polycarbonate is used to make skyscraper windows and layered bulletproof sheets.
You can shatter polycarbonate, but that's almost as hard as shattering aluminum.

Yesterday I got punched in the wrist by a vice stuck in a drillpress. It doesn't look like much, but it's tender. Probably just a deep tissue contusion.
It happened while I was trying to drill out the small pulley to match it's ID to the drive shaft of the motor. No surprise it getting stuck in the drillpress screwed it up, so I have to try again. But this time around I'll do it the careful way by using the lathe. Zinc, much like brass, can be fussy stuff to work on.

I used to inject-mould zinc... at 830*, it doesn't even burn when it touches you. It sears. Instantly.
It's very hard though. Even foils of Zinc can withstand pressures that exceed what you think it should be able to hold. That's probably why they use it on cables and flexible drive assemblies.

Made some progress on the console that will hold the two gauges, the top of the headlight, and the front turn signals. The bottom of the headlight will attach to the front fender and will have adjustable mounts for the high-power led high beams.
It will be dyed black once it's finished. It will bolt onto the triple-tree where the handlebar riser used to go.

I don't think he'd put them on - too much drain on the battery.
