Oh the actual intake it's self leaks, I was assuming it was at a gasket.
It seems like it has plenty of power for a 230hp 290tq engine.

I've had 2 v8 2wd Dakotas. A 1993 regular cab short bed 5.2 automatic I bought new for like $15k. Then a 2000 RCSB but an RT so it had the 5.9 the RT was an early run solar yellow that they discontinued early in 2000. They made a lot in 1999 but supposedly only 5 regular cabs that color in 2000. I bought that truck 2 years old with around 5000 miles. Sold it a few years later with under 10,000 miles on it. I remember seeing it for sale years later still under 20k on it and the ad said "never seen rain". I was like, I have pictures of that truck chained up in a blizzard in 2 feet of snow with a little buck I shot dripping blood down the tailgate. I also took 3rd place in a burnout contest in that truck, and got sides wiped by a beer truck. Goes to show how a good body and paint guy can make something into "never seen rain" that saw lots of rain and more.

Years again anything more than 200hp was plenty for everything

My first car had 55hp which was good enough

In certain parts of Africa it's still possible to buy a 94hp version of Toyota Hilux with a 5-speed manual transmission, while in Brazil it's within the 200hp range and available with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Not to mention the previous generation of the Isuzu D-Max still available in India and a handful export markets with an updated version of the 4JA1-L engine which is rated at 78hp.

I towed a 3,000lb boom lift 25 miles each way at 75mph on the highway with my leaf and it wasn't really lacking power, aside from more kwh for greater range.

Next Dakota fix will be new headlights, I have driven the truck one time at night with a very full moon and 65mph seemed sketchy.

Maybe not that strict...

But anyway, when US-spec Dakotas and Rangers were already surpassing the 200hp mark, the most common engines within that size class in my country were under 150hp. Well, 12 years ago 163hp was still fairly "impressive" here...

New head lights are in. I'll have to post a pic of old vs new, they were the original 24ish year old head lights. New ones are Made in tiawan.

Orderd 5 new tires. Yokohama 30x9.5R15

The battery is leaking acid so I'll probably need one here fairly soon. I believe it's a group 27.
I may just put the optima battery from my fire bird in it.

I don't know why, but many cars that were not (at least officially) available in Taiwan can be fitted with some replacement parts made there. Not to mention Nankang tires.

Mmm closeout pricing. $60 a pair? Sshutup and take my money.

Tires are in I'm still working on the first tank of gas. Looks like I'm only going to do one fuel economy tank.
Still about 3/8 tank with 240 miles.
