I have a hard time doing that.
I'm prone to fast acceleration, taking turns at high speeds, etc. but I generally keep my cruising speed low, and I'm mindful about conserving momentum, which seems to be where a majority of fuel savings are to be found. On my way to work today I averaged 102.6mpg, which is about 15 miles on a 50mph road. When I towed my ~1000lb trailer up from Florida through the Appalachians, I still averaged close to 60mpg, targeting 55-65mph.

Just had my first 80mpg tank! 81.91, to be exact. And the next tank is off to a good start:

Frankly, she's still in love with Del Sol. Plus, I don't really let her drive the Insight anymore.

Question! I get a P0420 just about any time I hit the highway. Wondering on the "cat wash", think it's something I should explore?

My P0420 code came back intermittently for maybe a thousand miles after I did my "cat wash", then quit coming back. It's been several thousand miles. Worth a try, I'd say.
