The fuel pump yes, the fuel pump module is inside the car, under the seat and carpet.

So, The fact I gutted my interior made it super simple to get at haha. Also probably why it failed, was probably loose for a long time, and taking the carpet away from holding it, it probably just went kaput.

Have a used one coming home that my dad picked up for me, so it will be back up and running tonight.

Those cars have a system (returnless) that does not return fuel to the tank. The pressure is regulated by controlling the voltage to the fuel pump. Basically it's a sensor on the injector rail sends a signal to the ECU which sends another signal to the pump module then the pump itself.

Seen them misdiagnosed when the problem was the sensor was not sending the proper signal. Super hard to start cold, but runs fine once you get it running. Very similar to a carb with no choke or accelerator pump.

regards
mech

Yep, I know it was the module, since the plug connector was completely off the circuit board haha.

New one plugged in, ignition on to get pump going, fired right up. Good to go!

Timing belt will get done hopefully this weekend. Going to be a busy weekend so we will see.

alright, im happy with my latest MPG! 38.04! this was with my summer tires on, yes i changed the distances and ultragauge for the new tire size diameter, again matched with GPS over my 140 mile commute. its bang on. so m happy. warmer temps, and tires that aren't studded makes a difference.

also since i need to do rust repair on my car, i dd the hood this past weekend, came out pretty good for rattle cans. did it black rather than trying to match the silver.

would love to hear your thoughts on the hood as well :P

thanks, i wasnt sure if id like it, but its growing on me. Its better than a mismatched silver, or a rusty stock silver one haha.

have rust repair on doors and roof to do as well, thinking of just sanding it, priming it, then getting a full vehicle wrap in a matte grey metallic. then powdercoating my wheels a dark browny bronzy color.

black hood = racecar! love the look and am jealous of your higher-than-me MPG numbers lol. Are the summer tires taller or shorter than your winter versions?

Summers are taller than the winters.

The winters are also slightly smaller than stock size.

Well I'm still around, car has been down for a while though. Coolant leak, just waiting for a part to come in.

Also did all my other maintenance i had been slacking on.

Got the timing belt done, water pump, valve cover gasket, power steering fluid changed, all fun stuff. Just waiting for thermostat housing and new thermostat. Once those are in the car will be back on the road. Hopefully.....
