for a while but I cant tell you the specifics.
I do know that Ford was buying the 5 series desiel engine and putting them in to Lincoln Mark VII for a while in the 80's.
But bmw stopped sending them when Ford made a commercial showing a Mark VII LSC (5 liter HO mustang motor) beating a bmw on a closed track.

They are not BMWs.

"There are cars made by BMW called the Mini. (STOP)There are mini cars, such as Smart Fortwo and the Fiat 500 (STOP) (transition to SMART & FIAT)designed to take advantage of the light weight and easy maneuverability of a small frame. And then there are really, really mini cars — micro sized cars usually designed as electric vehicles specifically used for in-city driving. (STOP)The new Zagota (THIS IS THE MANUFACTURER OF THE VOLPE)Volpe may have just invented a new classification: the micro-mini.

The MINI is designed by BMW. Quite a number of them are built in Germany or Austria. The upcoming sub-1 series shares a platform with the upcoming Cooper. They drive much like a BMW, except they're FWD. Of course, they're owned by BMW.

Nope. Remember that all Americans hate diesels. (No matter how we actually feel, of course.) BMW just started bringing over diesels recently, and they only offer one or two here. No idea how they're selling, but I hope it's well enough to convince them to bring over more.

Heck, maybe they'll even decide to import the MINI D!

Well, even if the Tinker-toy Company hired 7 little elfs to assemble it, I sure think it is neat - perfect around town.

soD,
Yes, the Mini is made by BMW. Acknowledged that.
But christen was impying that the Volpe was made by bmw and that was what my comment was on.

While the article starts uot talking about the BMW Mini in the first sentence only, the writer is using it as a starting point to get to the subject of the article, The Volpe

Sure, and I am sure that would make a nice new thread topic.
But my point was how BMW is incorperating cutting edge eco-modding techniques while still standing bt the claim of 'ultimate driving machine'.
