You wouldn't be complaining about their quality if you sold parts for a living

That said, I'm really looking forward to Fiat's influence on the Chrysler lineup, like the Dart. Here a small car is a POS, while in Europe it's simply something that isn't needlessly wasteful. It's going to feel strange to have something like that on our lot.

Just for comparison, this "half ton" truck has a payload rating of 3125 lb! That's 1.5 tons! It's not (quite ) as monstrously huge if you look at as a 1-ton truck.

The real question is, where are the 3/4 and 1/2 ton trucks now, that slot in below this thing?

Oh, and good job that they're actually making changes related to efficiency. That's worth a cookie or two, even if it's not worth a whole pie.

I predict smaller pickups will be coming back in the next 5-10 years (despite the recent demise of the Ford Ranger).

Reading Amory Lovins a dozen years ago could lead to the hope that before 2020 we'd have fuel-cell vehicles with interchangeable carbon-fiber bodies . . . ahhh, the good old days of 1998!.

Believe no promises about the world before you are forty.

Thanks for the article link, DD (and contributions by others). Pickup trucks have their place . . it's how us ordinary people run a business of two that is tangible. All else will be outsourced overseas.

Chrysler or anyone is going to put out a car that when the light turns green and all the stoplight gran prix racers start honking because you are waiting for your stop/start system to start. Yeah, OK. Sounds plausible. Use your freaking head.

Really that much hate over a simple question... A ****ing question.. Really does that irritate you that much? Is it that big of a burden to this thread. You still never answered the question. HOW? HOW will the engine know to start. Is it that serious?
