Smile 2013 Tesla Model S Car and Driver Review

Hey guys and gals,

Car and Driver did a review on the new 2013 Tesla Model S. It's a real interesting video, with some talk of aerodynamics and such, so I thought it'd be worth sharing. A lot of thought went into it's design for aero and with the 416HP and a .24 Cd what's not like? Ok yea- the range.

When I win the lottery I will get one of these and a Roadster

Enjoy!

Such a nice car. Electric will never be able to replace the gas engine on long trips but for 98% of driving we do which is trips shorter than 50 miles per day, it works just fine

Tesla has laid plans for quick charge stations all over the country. With 200-300mies of range and properly spaced stations, long distance travel is totally possible. Most people rarely make such trips more than once a year anyway.

Yup they just announced there superchargers, currently only in CA, but can give the car 50% or so charge in 30 minutes (about 150mi).

I agree but the base models get 200+mi per charge, more than a drive around town.

I have a 60mi round trip daily, which would work fine for me

200 might happen from a hyper miler, bit With the Roadster, their estimates were, allegedly, grossly over estimated.

Allegedly, those fast recharge stations reduce the longevity of the battery. But, science with those batteries is quickly improving.

The Superchargers are free. In 2 years this is the plan:

In 4-5 years they will be everywhere in the country.
