2014 cadillac ELR

Mom test drove one today, i rode in the back with my head bouncing off the rear window. The lease @over $900 a month is close to what their mortgage payment was before they paid off the house. I told them to lease it for 3 years then they can negotiate the price if they are still driving.

I'm not sure if they will get one or not but for them it would be just about perfect (mostly short trips) and they could buy it with cash easily if they wanted to, but at 89 and 93, 3 years is along time.

We'll see. Pop likes the plug in feature and they probably won't drive 10 k a year.

regards
mech

I thought they stopped making these around 2009, research must be done! Are they offering a standard now, by chance?

No, this would be the Coupe de Volte.

(Dumb alphanumeric names!)

I'm sure it's a nice car... but just about every review has skewered it on price.

I think Old Mechanic means the ELR then, not XLR.

It's a pretty red.
Sublime:

ACTIVE AERO
GRILLE SHUTTERS

Active aero grille shutters automatically close at highway speeds to maximize aerodynamics and open at lower speeds when additional cooling may be required.

REGEN ON DEMAND

Dual-side paddle controls located behind the steering wheel provide regeneration on demand, putting energy back into your battery while simultaneously slowing you down.

This advanced technology is something you can only truly appreciate when you experience it from behind the wheel—especially in slow-and-go traffic where exclusive Regen on Demand™ gives you the comfort of one-pedal driving.

Presumably warns you of peasants.

Afterwards I excitedly searched, and the most recent article popping was from 2005...lol, haven't looked much into the ELR. Will now!

The elr is a bit of a joke over on the cadillac forums, and it kind of deserves it.

Did your head bounce off the rear window due to it being small for rear passengers or was it peppy?
