A WAI may be part of the future mods installed on this car.
Today was a pretty good run as well. It was 3F out (yay). I got a full 35 minutes in with the block heater which put the coolant at just over 100F when I started it up. I got to work with just a hair under 42 mpg on the MFD, and 40mpg on the SG.
Aaaand, I filled up for the first time last night. Considering the really cold temps, a lot of time spent idling for the heater core / heating issues I've been having it was a very respectable 42.1 mpg! I'm pretty darn happy with that.

Congratulations!
Numbers don't lie, only the Statisticians, Accountants, and Bankers spouting them lie (wink, wink).

Yeah at 14k it's for sure is the worst car you could ever buy. But at 3k... I'm really not sure what could beat it? Tried to convince a co-worker to buy one because he drives his big truck 196mi round trip per day and he saw that Doug Demuro review and was like see even he hates it. I tried to convince him of the above but it didn't work. lol

It seems quite unfair to label the Mirage as the "worst" car in the American market. Sure from the average Joe standpoint it may not have the appeal of some random oversized SUV, but as long as it proves itself reliable and cheap to run it remains as a reasonable option for those who would otherwise look at either an older guzzler or a motorcyle (which would be a trade-off in both comfort and safety, plus having a lower passenger capacity). As a Latino, I would say that a brand-new Mirage is more likely to be perceived as a reasonable option by someone like me than a farm boy who grew up surrounded by rusted old trucks with their gas-guzzling V8s.

Well, I killed my battery over the weekend. I was out working on the car doing a mod (adding a glove box light) and I left the key in the car overnight... in the on position... in -5F weather. Sadly, its completely dead. I even put it on a charger for 2 days straight. This measurement was taken after I took the charger off.
On the positive side, I can now drop a deep cycle into it...

So, the other day I pulled the battery out of the Mirage and test fit the deep cycle that I had in the Metro. Turns out to be a pretty good fit. Its just a little bit longer, but identical in width and height.
However, the positive and negative terminals are on the wrong ends / sides... bleh. I'll have to run to the store and see what I can cobble together to make some extensions. There is no way the OEM battery cables will reach far enough on their own. Extra slack = none on today's cars it seems.
