The cast iron engines are expected to last 200k miles, while the aluminum ones only 150k miles.
200k miles equals 20 years for me. That's a good investment. I have 15 more to go, lol

There's a difference between a stop/start system and EOC. Stop/Start occurs after the turbo's had a chance to spool down and cool off, EOC means switching off a turbo that's just come off a high boost situation and is still hot and spinning.

I've got a turbo stop/ start car but won't be EOC'ing it. Still not convinced. I only do it if there's a big hill or the like where I can DFCO a bit to cool the turbo while still pumping air through it, then EOC is OK. But with a throttle less engine there's not much between the two.

I almost bought one. A dealer up by chicago had a base model, 1.4t and 6 spd manual for a little over 13k +taxes and fees. And then there is this... TRIFECTA - 2016 Chevrolet Cruze - 1.4L Turbo Elite

I'm curious where you heard that. Sounds about right. I read somewhere else on the internet that Chevy's design life is about 170k. Of course, there's the courier who only uses Mobil1 and is now pushing 500k highway miles.
