Could Samsung's "see-through" safety semi-truck prevent accidents?

Awesome!
I spend pretty much all of my highway commute behind semis, so it would be really convenient and safer to see what's ahead of them, especially since I-4 occasionally comes to a dead stop out of the blue. Of course, it would probably tempt me to ride closer behind them than I currently do, but if I could see ahead of the truck there wouldn't be any surprise stops or junk laying in the road I couldn't avoid.

I'd keep just the same distance anyway, 2 seconds is about the time it takes for all the debris kicked up by the tires to land back on the tarmac.
Most semis have a loading platform as a back door here. Stores will plaid their loading bays with velvet soon, to avoid damaging those flatscreens 
It won't be long before someone figures out the other potential possibilities of having a flatscreen aft. I'll guess we will have to be extra careful during the commercials.
We could sponsor a film showing lots of oncoming traffic so the cars stay behind the truck and save fuel

Might be cheaper and more practical in the long run to retrofit a camera & projector system that would shine the image onto the back of the truck, rather than those awesome flat screen displays
I can see commercials coming though, it's just a matter of time!

An excellent point, they should probably switch to a red gradient at night.
But since this is %99 them advertising their products, and it is to solicit monies from other companies (with various complications on implementation), I don't see it happening overnight everywhere. |
