The date is official for the 2nd Annual Great Lakes GeoPalooza - Saturday July 25th 2009

Geo Metro and all other "Econobox" owners are encouraged to join us. Members from other sites will also be invited to this gather on beautiful Lake Erie. Last year was a great success at Pymatuning Lake in NE Ohio.........

MORE INFO - MORE INFO

We hope this year will be even better especially since we have a prime location right on the beaches of Lake Erie at Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula, Ohio.............

The address is..............

We are going to be on the East side of the Main Pavilion rows 1 through 15 and will start the gather around 9:00AM until the afternoon and then that night we can also meet up at the Pymatuning Lake Drive-In theater.........

I already rented the Pavilion and will be supplying some food and refreshments. Others joining are encouraged to bring food, drinks, chips, etc to ensure everyone has a great time. There are so many thing you and the family can do in this area, so if you want to make a vacation out of this, you will not be disappointed.

Make your Hotel or Camping reservations early since Summertime is a busy time of year on Lake Erie and those of you traveling long distances should take note of other members profiles and locations and message each other if you want to pair up on the journey. It's not official, but I may also open up my property for camping/bonfire if some of you need something to do the night before or after the meet.

Some members will be staying at Geneva State Park and several members have already reserved spots#25 - #29 there. Here is a link............

Lake Village campground always has camping spots available (no reservations available) and it's close to the Drive-In...........

Evergreen Lake park has camping for $19.00 per night......

Hotels/Motels are also nearby if you are not a camper.......

How many OTHER electric Metros will be there?

Awesome to take the initiative, Johnny M.

Date marked. I'd really like to go - just need to check against a couple of other events (family & holidays) that are still in the works.

It would be fun to bring the ForkenSwift...

I got lucky! The park started taking reservations on today's date and most of the Saturdays have already been taken.

I'll be bringing my Metro this time. I will probably be hauling it behind my van though It is a bit rough and uncomfortable for a 7 hour trip. Plus I can bring a massive amount of spare parts

Got any advice on a camping location nearby for this one? Last time we rode the bikes up to the lake but it was raining pretty good so we didn't get to look around at a lot of the park areas. It would be cool if we find a place big enough that we could all group together again.

If we are going to the Drive-In that night, I would say camping at the same location as last year would be ideal since Pymatuning State park is close to the theatre.

Pymatuning State Park

I can also scan out some other campgrounds near Lake Erie also.

Dang... I'd like to go, but I think my family will kill me if I do anything the weekend right after Hybridfest Green Drive Expo. I usually commit to being with them that last weekend in July since they have to put up with all my festival planning the rest of the year.

Well, my fingers are crossed for good weather for you and I'll continue to watch the thread.

If we have any extra stuff from our event (freebies, etc), maybe we can send it down to you guys with someone who had come up here the weekend before?

How would you do that? You would have to leave a month early

If you do decide to show up, it would be great to see the Electro-Metro, but hopefully on a trailer at first
