Pretty disgusting ehh? this is what happens when you legally mandate something and "effectively" do nothing to regulate them.

anything more than $100 a year per driver (what 60 pounds?) is CRIMINAL in my book.

Check State Farm for motorcycle insurance. I just did and it was half of what I was paying Progressive.
On a relatively related note, did you know that the Ultra Gauge has an alarm that goes off when you hit 120mph?

Love this discussion. Just remember, if you believe that the insurance company is your friend then you deserve exactly what they dish out.
I was wondering however if the 600 a year was for full coverage.

My phone GPS clocked me going 720 mph on a hike once. That would suck if a glitch showed up on your insurance policy and you had to pay for it ....for how long?

It does a sharp intake of breath if a car comes within 50 ft of us. Yet it will quite happily pilot under 2 car lengths from the vehicle in front at 70 mph.

I did set her GPS to make the Starship Enterprise alarm sound when she went over the limit. It didn't last long...

Madness.
You were an existing customer, so no need to hook you.
They know many people won't switch because of the hassle it gives.

In today's big company thinking, the existing customer has essentially become a worthless creature - unless they can sell him ever more services and crank up the ARPU.
But they never get the best pricing for their upgrades or even their base product.
It's the new customers they want, even though these have high start-up costs and high costs to pull them in.

Some people here are switching service providers yearly, and get the best deal of the moment - be it an ISP, gas, electricity, insurance ... you name it.
If there's competition, they'll use it to their advantage.

Yep there are a lot of new customer only deals around which is annoying. We review everything either when it is time to renew, like insurances, or if we have signed up for any kind of deal and the tie-in period has ended. We save around £4-500 annually by doing this.

Its interesting that on the car insurance it didn't detect me as an existing customer when I signed up again, but it did give me the two car in one household policy for Mrs A having her car insured with the same people. This was two days before she cancelled because hers is now covered by the company.

hahaha your funny. that $600 was for STRICT lowest possible liability only. 30K total $5k medical per $5k property damage (their car not mine)

if I so much as "look" in the general direction of the emergency room I exceed my coverage.

now you know another reason why I practice EADD. Extremely Aggressive Defensive Driving.

I drive my car like I ride my motorcycle. as if ANYTHING can kill me with a touch.
