300 miles (482 km) on 60 kWh in 2019 Chevy Bolt

We got our 2019 Chevy Bolt back from the dealership after they installed a new 66 kWh battery pack under the GM recall. When I picked up the car on march 12th I had no plans except to drive it down to a 5% SOC.

About half way through the run I was seeing miles driven plus estimated range left figures adding up to over 300 miles so I decided to go for a 300 mile personal best record on one charge. On March 19th we completed the run with 300.4 miles and 60 kWh on the dash.

The GOM was flashing and simply said Low and the car was telling to charge as soon as possible. It took 64.68 kWh to charge the car back to 95% but my best estimate is 66 kWh which amounts to 220 watt hours per mile which is 4.5 miles per kWh or 153 mpg-e.

This was accomplished in the second part of the driving cycle by driving low speed routes of 55 mph, 40 mph, and 45 mph. We did have 25 miles of interstate driving on the car which is the reason we just managed to get to our 300 mile target goal.

I’m disappointed I didn’t pick up a $9999 Bolt early in the pandemic

Despite extremely low sales numbers the Bolts seem to just go up up up in price

Ah well

Inventory creatored. I was tracking inventory, and when I began I was seeing 125 within a 200 mile radius. You could buy a new Bolt for $23k with incentives, and I was seeing used ones for $14k.

200 mile radius inventory is now 2. The used ones are going for new prices back in November of 2020.

How much of this price increase is temporary supply shortages, and how much of it is permanent inflation?

Typo.

Inventory shrunk from at least Nov 2020 until present.

GM had a stop sale issued, but that merely drove up the price on the Bolt, and when THE remedy(s) were released, there was no corresponding flood of inventory or reduction in price. The Bolt is currently 46% above Feb 2021 pricing, ahead of the overall market at 36%.

None of those facts reveals what future pricing will do.

I haven’t watched export activity

I wonder if buyback Bolts are like all the 2011 Leafs Nissan exported out of the country instead of allowing to auction here?

As alluded to who’s inventory?

Many Bolts went back to the mothership but very few went on market .
Returns does not equal sales

I haven’t seen any holding lots for Bolts so you gotta wonder where they went

Oops I guess there were holding lots and they all exported

My new video on the first road trip (726 miles) in my Chevy Bolt with a new battery pack. The car did well averaging 126 mpg-e. I discuss the protocol of how I do the numbers.

That would be the '19 Bolt LT named MoonDust? How do you parse out the six different entries in the sidebar?

I always thought it was eek-omodder.

I used to get a max of 166wthrs/mile on my Volt doing my twice weekly 100 mile trip (based off the wall measurements)
(Have screenshots somewhere)

The screen would show 68-72 EV miles and 44-48mpg on the gas only segment

Not sure of mpge
